Tomintoul Seiridh displays its essence on its label. The name 'Seiridh', pronounced "sheh-ree", derives from the Scottish Gaelic word for sherry, reflecting its finishing process in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts following an initial maturation in American oak Bourbon casks. Master distiller Robert Fleming meticulously selected the sherry casks from a family-owned bodega in Andalucia, Spain, with evident success. The aroma reveals notes of nutty barley and soft red berries, underpinned by a touch of mocha. On the palate, one finds the rich taste of Christmas cake, complemented by toasted pecan, toffee, and a subtle hint of spicy clove. The finish lingers with flavours of red liquorice, coffee, butterscotch, and flamed orange.
